my facebook status today states "jo smith is still forgiving my english dentists ...just spent 3 hours in a dentist's chair removing the last amalgam fillings ...YEAH to no more mercury!"
yep, coming to canada has opened my eyes to their differing cultural values ...one being dentistry ...of which i am truly grateful for.
it does however bring up a few emotions of having to forgive the british dentistry values, historically documented in my mouth for all to see!
over the last 6 years, it has taken a couple of root canals, a couple of crowns, wisdom teeth removals, amalgam (mercury - yikes!) filling replacements and many hours in the dentistry chair to restore what could have been!
a fair few bills later, a lot of forgiving!
sometimes our earthly cultural values conflict with god's kingdom values and soon enough our unforgiveness grows maybe towards god, maybe towards others, maybe towards ourselves, maybe towards the circumstance...
1 day of unforgiveness - 1 day of forgiveness = daily i forgive!
yours trying to keep short accounts (and free to bless british dentists), jo :)
