Meet Holy Spirit

Meet Holy Spirit

Well you are in for a big treat. Oh yes, sirree bob. Because you can meet the Holy Spirit right here, right now. The Holy Spirit is the deliciously tangible substance of God here on the earth and inside every born again believer.

In a minute we are going to ask the Holy Spirit to come and make himself known to you. Even if you have not sealed the deal yet with Jesus and asked him to be Lord of your life – you can still experience his Spirit.

When his Spirit comes you will experience him in a way that is unique to you. But it could feel like this: a sudden warmth, a gentle breeze, a tingling, an incredible sense of peace, a smile, laughter, fire on your body, drunkenness, feeling ‘high’, sudden insight or wisdom, a powerful shaking and trembling like electricity going through your body.

You see, God is not about keeping his distance from you. No, quite the opposite. He wants to get as close to you as superhumanly possible. And stay with you for all eternity. And he wants you to experience and know his presence with you in a physical, emotional reality. Dang, he is so nice.

By his death, Jesus paid for us to have this kind of relationship with Father – and he sent his Spirit to live inside us. God living inside you. That’s a pretty wild idea, don’t you think? And guess what? When you have God himself living inside your physical being, all sorts of cool things happen. He becomes your Internal GPS – your guide, your counsellor, your friend. Helping you navigate your way through daily life with all its confusing choices (take a left here, friend).

He also brings with him all his characteristics so you too can experience them and give them to others: love, peace, joy, self-control, patience, kindness, gentleness etc.

Oh and he also shares with you supernatural gifts and insights and powers – to heal sick people, prophesy the future and all sorts of other incredible stuff.

You see, God trusts you and he knows your heart is good. When you repent for the mistakes you’ve made and the sucky attitudes we all carry about with us, he is eager to come in and make his home inside you. So you’ll never be alone again.

Anyway, I’m getting carried away here. Back to the point.

Want to experience the Spirit of God right now?

Say this “Father God I want to experience you right here, right now. Please send your Spirit to me so that I can feel your presence with me.”

Ok, good one. Now, just relax. Maybe close your eyes. Don’t ‘try’ to experience him. Just wait. Chill out. Go for a walk if it helps you relax. He will come and make himself known to you. And it’s easier to receive and be aware of his coming when you aren’t all tense about it. This is called waiting in ‘faith’.

All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.”
